As hinted on social media and billboards for a couple of days, N.E.R.D is coming out with new music and the first drop is a collaboration with Rihanna (who serves a 58 second rap verse)! The track called ”Lemon” came earlier today along with a video where Fenty is sitting on a hotel bed shaving dancer Mette Towley’s head before Towley takes off dancing alone in a market space:

Could this be what was made when Rih, Drake and Pharrell hit the studio in London back in 2016? I think so.

Yas! These random drops here and there is like a vitamin D injection to me. Rihanna hasn’t performed ONCE in 2017, yet continues to stay relevant and on top of the game. Movies, fashion, make-up, photo shoots, awards, philanthropy – she stays busy and I love all of it but new music (with possible future performances….?) gets me a liiiiittle bit more excited. ;)

”Wild thoughts”, Rih’s song with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller, is dropping tomorrow June 16th. The event of this summer is happening at 6am for New Yorkers, 12pm if you’re living in Sweden like me. I’ll be at work but make sure a break is happening at exactly 12 o’clock.

New music! Rihanna brought out her inner rapper on ”Loyalty”, one out of three collaborations on Kendrick Lamar’s newly released ”Damn”. I love it this song so much. It’s smooth enough to make me wanna bathe in it. The sound is exactly what I imagine a soundtrack to Rihanna’s birthday trip to Aspen back in ’14 would have been like. Anyone understand what I mean lol?

Besides from the feature Rih is also mentioned on track 12, ”Fear”, in which Kendrick raps:

A referens to the backstory of ”Bitch Better Have My Money”, where Rihanna takes revenge on the accountant who stole from her (real life story). Our girl RiRi, a true inspiration to peers and fans alike <3

I can’t believe how lucky we’ve been with releases this year? It’s only April and we’ve already gotten ”Selfish”, ”Nothing is Promised” and now ”Loyalty”. Next up should be her collab with Dj Khaled.

Let it be known that a remix changed my life. I’ve been really down the past couple of days but seeing/hearing This Is What You Came For in an 80s version somehow helped me breath again. Something about the aesthetics of the video is super calming too. All hail art helping us all to hang in there.

I want more of these soft, semi-sad and calming songs in my life. Nelly Furtado’s Pipe Dreams also fits the category but I need more so send me some suggestions please. <3
