4. Just när du inte trodde att det kunde bli mer cringeworthy bestämmer sig gänget på scen för att det kan och ska bli värre. 1.22 är det dags att droppa meningarna ”Pata Pata is the name of a dance we do down Johannesburg way. And everybody starts to move as soon as Pata Pata starts to play.” Det är bara det att Göran Rudbo droppar raderna på ett sätt som man bara kan anta är hans bild av hur en ”afrikan” låter. 5. Runt 2.22 inleds en ny era i klippet – det är äntligen dags för det efterlängtade klarinettsolot! Jag tror att det är en klarinett i alla fall, vi bestämmer att det är nu. Så: Aldrig tidigare, eller senare, har ett klarinettsolo tagits emot med sådan uppskattning. Triple & Touch kryper tätt intill solisten och lyssnar uppmärksamt, som vore han den första killen att få knulla i ett högstadiekompisgäng. Håkan skaffar sig stankface för han är så peppad, och Lasse, underbara Lasse, knäpper fingrarna som aldrig förr. I hela en minut och femton sekunder pågår det där solot. En. Minut. Och. Femton. Sekunder. Klarinettsolo.
6. Vänta nu – har de här kvinnorna anställt ett paraplyhållar-barn?
7. Vid 3.25 dyker det härliga gänget framför scenen upp för kanske tredje gången och de är nästan mina favoriter. För jag tror att de är ironiker. De har gått för att kolla på Triple & Touch på ett slott ironiskt. Och så kommer Pata Pata, en låt som de älskar (helt ironiskt) igång och så dansar de allt de orkar, alldeles, alldeles ironiskt. Låt mig påminna dig: Det här är hela två år innan Killinggänget startade, och jag är ganska säker på att den här goa trion var inspirationen.

Visst, jag håller med om att videon är problematisk, men man bör ändå se framträdandet i sitt rätta sammanhang. Att framföra en svart sydafrikansk låt 1989 var naturligtvis ett politiskt statement i sig självt, i synnerhet då originalet spelats in av en apartheid-kritiker som bannlysts av den sydafrikanska regimen och vars musik även var förbjuden i landet. Dessutom torde royalties-pengarna (pga TV-sändning) indirekt ha stött kampen, i och med att upphovskvinnan Dorothy Masuka även hon var exil-aktivist.
Så, det handlar inte så mycket om att appropriera som att uppvärdera, synliggöra, och ge en röst till. Att Björn Afzelius, som tidigare medverkat på ANC-galan, finns med på ett hörn här borde ge en fingervisning om avsikterna. Det finns för övrigt en del från ANC-galan som må se ”töntigt” ut med dagens ögon, men det fråntar inte artisternas engagemang och det jobb de faktiskt gjorde för att skapa medvetenhet.
Förlåt, jag hatar att vara en sån jävla besserwisser, men det är en sopransax, inte en klarinett. Förlåt.

För några månader sedan träffade jag på dem i Sydafrika och dansade Pata Pata med dem samt en hel sydafrikansk skola. Faktiskt kul. Och lite sjukt. Rudbo kör fortfarande ”snacket” men har softat till det lite med den ”sydafrikanska accenten”. Tilläggas bör kanske också att de har jobbat svinmycket i Sydafrika de senaste åren och gjort väldigt mycket för unga svarta människor. Rimliga personer. Och väldigt kul med youtubeklippet!!
