Ni har kanske läst om Moderaternas utspel om Spel vs. Skola? Kanske också sett många kritiska svar?
Nöjesguidens spelbloggare borde väl också kritisera det här? Nej, det tänker jag inte göra. Vad jag däremot kommer att göra är att uppmana er inte låta er luras.
Låt er inte luras in i en debatt där grundämnet blir sekundärt. Det här handlar ju inte alls om huruvida spel är dåligt eller bra för oss (jag är så fruktansvärt less på den debatten). Eller, det borde den i alla fall inte göra. Debatten borde handla om grundproblemet.
Och grundproblemet är inte att elever i svenska skolor spelar för mycket spel. Nej, det är inte ens att de läser för lite läxa. Grundproblemet är en skolpolitik som leder till minskade resurser, färre specialpedagoger, större klasser, sämre skolmiljö, sämre skolmat och så vidare, in absurdum. Det här är en skolpolitik som Moderaterna till extremt stor del är skyldiga till. Men som de vägrar ta ansvar för. Istället förskjuter de problemet till föräldrarna och hemmen.
Ingrid Westlund är doktor i pedagogik vid Linköpings Universitet. I en intervju i Pedagogiska Magasinet (från april 2013) säger hon bland annat:
– Det finns föräldrar som tror att en lärare som ger mycket läxor är en bra lärare. Men jag skulle nästan kunna säga att det är precis tvärtom. Läxorna tyder ju på att man inte hinner med sitt kunskapsuppdrag.
I ett bättre fungerande system skulle lärarna inte behöva ge eleverna lika mycket hemläxa som de gör idag. Resultaten blir inte sämre för att vi spelar mer, de blir sämre för att skolan blir sämre. I ett Sverige med fungerande skolpolitik skulle barn och unga kunna spela mer, utan problem.
Bra skrivet, håller med om att debatten blir helt felfokuserad. Kan inte någon ta fram en graf som visar medel/skolelev korrelerat med betyg över tiden?
Visst, skolan är ett problem. Men ett lika stort problem är att barn inte läser utanför skoltid, eftersom de bara spelar.
