Häromdagen satt jag på en bar i Washington DC med några kompisar. En amerikansk vän började prata om rattfylleri.

”In the US it’s more acceptable with drunk driving. In Sweden you have zero tolerance. So there’s two different paradigms. In the US, if an accident happens, there is more accountability. For instance, if I kill you, Simon, in a car accident, your family could sue me for the projected income of your lifetime. So they would get a shitload of money. And I, in my turn, could sue the bartender you see over there for serving me alcohol although I was so drunk that I crashed and killed you.”

Sedan betalade vi och jag gick rakt ut på vägen med gott samvete.
