Svenska spelföretaget Avalanche Studios ligger inte på latsidan. Förutom att producera Mad Max-spelet till Mad Max-filmen har de parallellt också jobbat vidare på sin kaossandlådesimulator Just Cause 3. Och nu när de första gameplay-bilderna har släppts för båda spelen tänkte jag att vi kunde ta en närmare titt på dem:
Just Cause 3:
En känslosam resa i spåren av en plågad man… Nej, förlåt. Just Cause 3-trailern avslöjar ju ingenting av handlingen i det kommande spelet. Och förmodligen av en anledning. JC-spelen har ju aldrig handlat om djuplodande berättelser om mänsklighetens innersta väsen. Nej, det handlar snarare om tunga fordon, hårda projektiler och entropi. Alltså: snabba bilar, explosioner och ett jävla rens. Och på de nivåerna ser ju JC3 ut att leverera minst lika bra som sina föregångare. Det kommer säkert bli skoj, men personligen känner jag att det här kanske är ett spel som jag kommer njuta mer av genom att bara titta på när andra spelar/skapar kaos.
Mad Max
Om vi bortser från att Max själv ser ut som exakt alla andra karaktärer i alla andra spel (till exempel Just Cause 3) är det här trailermaterial som gör mig peppad. Personligen hade jag ju hellre sett Mel Gibson-stilen från originalfilmen (han är så jävla snygg där). Men som sagt, bortsett från det ser det här ut som bra skit. Det är Motorstorm-racing blandat med Batman-fighting – och så ett uns av resurshantering. Du måste se till att ha bensin i tanken – och hittar du inte mat får du äta saker ur lik. Just det där sista känns ju kanske lite väl magstarkt, men kanske finns det en koppling till Mad Max-filmen här som måste göras. Ett svenskt spel baserat på en australisk filmserie. Jag hade väldigt låga förväntningar på det här, men efter att ha sett gameplay har jag ändrat mig. Det här kan bli en av årets stora överraskningar – om allt sköts rätt. Hoppas att det sköts rätt.
