Jag fick ett mail idag. Ett mail som påminde mig om en sak som kanske inte alltid verkar så klar i den här bloggen: Spelcommunityt är inte summan av trakasserande onlinespelare, gamergejtare och kvinnohatande spelutvecklare. Tvärtom finns här så sjukt mycket bra folk. På alla plan. Solidaritet och kamratskap är liksom inget som helt saknas här, tvärtom. Det senaste beviset för det är Spelhjälpen. Ett streaming-maraton som går av stapeln i mitten av oktober. Alla insamlade pengar går till stöd för Läkare utan gränser – och detta görs bland annat för att ”uppmärksamma den allt mer ohållbara situationen vid Europas gräns”. Sjukt bra.

Spelhjälpen – ett spelmaraton för flyktinghjälp
Under helgen vecka 41 kommer den första upplagan av Spelhjälpen gå av stapeln, ett direktsänt spelmaraton till stöd för Läkare Utan Gränsers arbete och för att uppmärksamma den allt mer ohållbara situationen vid Europas gräns
Vi som tagit initiativ till detta är ett antal spelentusiaster, podcastare, spelskribenter och medmänniskor i Göteborgsregionen som har det gemensamt att vi både älskar spelmediet för dess eskapism och för dess förmåga att föra människor samman och skapa gemenskap. Det är denna gemenskap vi nu vill ta med oss ut från spelens värld, så att vi tillsammans kan göra vår omvärld till en bättre plats.
Och vi vill att ni ska vara med!
Under sändningen kommer det förutom att spelas en hel massa spel också komma inbjudna gäster, visas upp spännande nyheter, tävlas om priser och en hel mängd andra saker som kommer avslöjas under veckorna fram tills att det är dags. Målet med sändningen är att tillsammans med tittarna samla in så mycket pengar som möjligt som oavkortat kommer gå till Läkare Utan Gränsers ovärdeliga arbete.
