Den senaste veckan har varit omtumlande för esporten (alltså elektronisk sport, att tävla i tv- och datorspel) på ett politiskt plan. Centerpartisten Rickard Nordin skrev i en debattartikel i Svenska Dagbladet att e-sport bör ingå i Riksidrottsförbundet. Han fortsätter med att jämföra esporten med dart, boule, biljard och varpa. Oklart om det ligger en värdering i den liknelsen. Men i alla fall, om Nordins utspel kunde verka populistiskt gjorde kristdemokraten David Lega ett ställningstagande i helt motsatt riktning i en egen SvD-debattartikel. Lega erkände att ”dataspel” visserligen är roligt, men det gör det inte till en idrott.
Och visst kunde det väl stanna där. Men vad ingen hade räknat med var att Ice T ville ha ett ord med i leken. Och han uttrycker sin åsikt i nya videon till låten Institutionalized:

Bodycount visar att de är lika politiskt brännheta som de någonsin varit. Då handlade det om polisvåld, nu om frustrationen i att inte få spela Xbox för sin omotiverat avklädda fru. Eller att få prata med indier i telefonsupporten. Eller hata veganer.
Den naturliga följdfrågan är förstås: är det tv-spelen som gör honom så arg? Har han ett spelproblem?
