Jag vet inte om det är något att kokettera med egentligen, men jag kollar på en del unboxingvideor. Och de allra bästa unboxarna har bomullsvantar och svinvassa knivar. Med kniven läggs snitt som är så pass kirurgiska att ingen lekman kan se snittytan på tejpen. Sjukt viktigt pga vi vill hålla förpackningen så nära mint det bara går.
I stora lådan fanns en mindre låda. Sjukt klyschigt men ändå roligt för de/oss som får puls av hårda förpackningar.
Jag tror aldrig jag kommer bli så härdad och cynisk i min yrkesroll att jag slutar känna den där metalliska blodsmaken av pepp i munnen när jag öppnar kartongen till en ny konsol. Jag vet inte om det beror på min historia (låt mig återkomma till det vid ett senare tillfälle) eller om det är likadant för er också. Det måste vara så här troende kristna känner när dom äntligen får fira Jesus födelse med en råsaftcentrifug.

Handkontrollen förtjänar egentligen ett inlägg för sig, men här kommer ett par bilder som visar DualShock 3 bredvid den nya, upphottade (och fantasifullt döpta) DualShock 4. Sony tar ett inte så litet steg mot sköna Xbox 360-handkontrollen, utan att för den skull tappa sin egen identitet. Kontrollen har en pekkänslig platta där startknappen brukade sitta, en högtalare just under den och ett hörlursuttag i nederkant. Där finns också en Move-lampa på toppen. Och en ”Share”-knapp. Det där sista kan tyckas vara en liten detalj. Det är det inte. Det är en revolution, något som mycket väl kan komma att definiera den här generationen. Kom ihåg var du hörde det först (och jag ska återkomma om varför). Det följer också med ett pyttelitet och ganska rötet headset. Bättre än inget, men enligt rykten ska de flesta headset funka att koppla in (när jag testade med mina iPhone-lurar rundade det dock järnet).
Konsolen i sig är så jävla fin. 80-talsfuturistisk på ett sätt som är så sjukt rätt nu (för två år sen?) och som säkert kommer hålla måttet för evigt (skrattar vi åt den om tio år?). Min första tanke är dock ”undrar hur den kommer se ut i vitt utförande”. Jag behöver en vit.
Jag fick också ett par spel skickade till mig i recensionssyfte. Förpackningen ger jag tio plus pga bubbel, ytterligare betyg måste jag vänta med tills senare. Efter att ha ruskat försiktigt på plasten visade det sig att spelen jag fått med var Killzone: Shadow Fall och Knack. Lanseringsspel brukar sällan hålla särskilt hög klass, och jag fruktar att så också är fallet här.
Så. Redo att pluggas in och ta steget in i nästa generation tv-spel. Undrar hur många hundratusentals nördar som krämbrallar i just detta ögonblick.
