Alltså: om Nintendo släppt sin 8-bitarskonsol, den vi alla känner som Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), med dagens prisläge hade den kostat 412 dollar. Jämfört med Playstation 4, som ju faktiskt släppts i år, var alltså NES en dyrare produkt på sin tid.
Här kan vi till exempel se vad några av de första framgångsrika konsolerna för hembruk kostade. På den tiden fanns det ju fortfarande arkadhallar (RIP), men för den som insåg att alla de där femkronorna till slut blev jävligt mycket pengar var en konsol ett bra alternativ. Sjukt bara att maskinerna var så ABSURT dyra. Alternativet var ju förstås att köpa hem ett arkadkabinett. Och det är inte billigare.
NeoGeo var i princip just det. En arkadmaskin för hemmabruk. Mellanstadie-Micke brukade drömma om att vinna på måltipset. Högst på önskelistan var en 486:a och en NeoGeo. Fun fact: jag har fortfarande inte råd med en NeoGeo.
1993 CD-skivan var så jävla mycket skiten. 3DO var en konsol med CD-läsare, som kunde visa 3D-grafik och som kostade ungefär lika mycket som ett mindre lands BNP. Det gick, så klart, åt helvete för den.
Det lustigaste(?) med den här listan är att några av de absolut bästa maskinerna också var de allra billigaste. Super Nintendo (förra raden) och Dreamcast var ju till exempel rent utav prisvärda när de släpptes. Läxan: gå inte på prislapp när du köper tv-spelskonsol.

Och så till den här generationens konsoler. Priserna haltar naturligtvis lite med tanke på att vi i Sverige ALLTID får betala betydligt mer för en konsol än vad folk på andra sidan pölen får göra. Men jämförelsen är ändå relevant eftersom momspåslag och liknande borde vara likadant över hela brädet.
